Why this site exists

The clone fragrance market is full of noise: fabricated product names, copy-pasted “dupe lists”, and match percentages invented to sell bottles. Meanwhile, a $30 clone really can deliver 90% of a $300 fragrance — if you pick the right one. PerfumeCloneFinder exists to separate the real clones from the noise.

The site is independently owned and operated by a fragrance enthusiast. It has no ownership ties to any fragrance brand, clone house, or retailer, and no brand pays to influence a score.

How the database is built

Every clone-to-original mapping in our database is human-verified before it appears on the site. A mapping is only published when it is corroborated by independent sources — typically a combination of the clone house’s own “inspired by” disclosure, reviewer databases, and community consensus across multiple platforms. Products that cannot be corroborated stay unpublished, full stop.

We also correct ourselves. When new evidence shows a mapping is wrong — the wrong target fragrance, a flanker confused with the base, or a product that turns out not to exist — we fix or remove it. Accuracy beats catalogue size.

How scoring works

Comparisons are generated by Claude (Anthropic’s AI) analysing the note pyramids, concentrations, and price positioning of each verified pair, scored across four weighted dimensions: similarity (40%), longevity (30%), and value (30%), combined into an overall score. How the site makes money
